Helpful Hints

  1. For low porosity hair, we suggest you use a typical dryer to dry your roots first. Low porosity hair has a tightly closed cuticle layer. This makes it difficult for moisture to penetrate or escape. Low porosity hair takes a long time to dry.  A quick blast with your favorite hair dryer will speed up the process by making hair easier to part and section.
  1. Always use a heat protectant. If you don’t have one, consult with a hair specialist or stylist for recommendations.
  1. Part hair in 4 sections.  This will make it easier to dry the roots and prevent tangles.

  1. Coarser hair types may find it difficult to straighten the ends.  Once hair is dry, turn off the fan to use style mode. The comb will help straighten the ends.  If you have a preferred comb, make sure the styler is turned off and cool before removing the included comb. See instructions for removable comb above.
  1. It is best to dry hair at 230°F for most hair types. Course, coily and kinky hair that is unprocessed may need to go up to 410F or 450F for best results.
